One of these was Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, produced by 343 Studios and Microsoft to promote the release of Halo 4. Halo has actually seen two different, completed, live-action attempts at adaptations so far. As the franchise changed hands over time, and Microsoft saw several studio heads rotate through, talks of live-action adaptations were started and halted multiple times. The inventive first-person shooter was an immediate success and sequels were soon to follow. In 2001, Bungie launched the sci-fi franchise of games with Halo: Combat Evolved. The most recent attempt on Paramount, however, looks as though it’s likely to actually premiere soon, although there hasn’t actually been much in the way of information on the series as of yet. Despite the popularity of the series, and the solid groundwork they have laid out for storytelling, adaptations of this franchise have struggled to ever truly get off the ground. Due to this, live-action adaptations have been in the works for years with the goal of being able to market the story to those who simply don’t or won’t touch video games.
